MITC Launches Fully-Funded Support for Electronic Music Industry Professionals

Resident Advisor spotlights MITC’s landmark 6-month pilot with Maria May to support 5 entry- and mid-level workers in the electronic music industry.

MITC has announced a pioneering new stress management programme designed to tackle the burnout crisis facing electronic music professionals. As reported by Resident Advisor (RA), the 6-month pilot — launching September 2026 — offers fully-funded support to 5 entry- to mid-level workers across the sector.

The scale of the problem is hard to ignore. Research consistently shows that those working in music are at far higher risk of mental health challenges than the general population:

  • 66% of DJs have experienced burnout at least once
  • 73% of independent musicians experience stress, anxiety or depression
  • Music Industry Professionals are 3× more likely to suffer depression than the general population

Designed as a preventative — not crisis — intervention, the programme focuses on resilience-building and long-term career sustainability. It combines:

  • 4 months of 1-to-1 psychotherapy
  • 6 weeks of performance coaching
  • Expert-led MITC practitioner workshops
  • Meditation training
  • 1-to-1 mentoring with CAA agent Maria May
  • Fully funded — no cost to participants

If you are an entry- or mid-level professional in the electronic music industry, applications are open now and close on 1 June 2026.
