DJ Mag Spotlights New Programme for Dance Music Professionals

DJ Mag features MITC + Maria May’s fully-funded mental health programme.

We’re thrilled to share that MITC has been featured in DJ Mag, one of the world’s leading electronic music publications, in recognition of our newly-launched Electronic Music Executive Stress Management Programme with Maria May.

The six-month programme, announced at IMS Ibiza on 23rd April 2026, was developed in collaboration with MITC’s Operations Director, Laura Newton, and Founder, Tamsin Embleton, author of Touring and Mental Health: The Music Industry Manual. It is sponsored by Maria May, a leading Creative Artists Agency (CAA) agent who has worked with artists including David Guetta, Sara Landry and Robin Schulz.

The programme is aimed at reducing burnout risk and building long-term career sustainability among entry- to mid-level dance music professionals — from agents and managers starting out in the business to young artists.

The need for dedicated mental health support in the music industry is well evidenced. A 2025 study found that music industry professionals experience significantly higher than average rates of anxiety, depression, burnout and emotional exhaustion. The Musicians’ Mental Wellbeing Report also found that one third of musicians report negative mental wellbeing — rising to 43% among LGBTQIA+ musicians and 49% among disabled musicians.

This programme is a significant step toward making that support available to those who need it most, at a critical stage of their careers. Five fully-funded places will be made available, assessed on eligibility, readiness, and overall fit.

Applications are open now and close on 1st June 2026. Interviews and assessments will take place in June and July, with the programme beginning in September 2026.
