Amanda Wheeler

Psychotherapist (MA, AMFT) she/her

Amanda Wheeler is an Associate Marriage and Family therapist with an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy. Amanda has a diverse background in the entertainment industry, having worked across marketing & management at one of the largest management companies in the world, as well as directly in music venues in LA. Amanda has worked with artists of varying sizes and career stages, as well as with all areas and departments of the music industry. Whether in the studio, the office, or life on the road, Amanda has a deep understanding of the trials and tribulations associated with the world of arts and entertainment.

After over a decade of working with numerous artists, managers, agents, record labels and others in the industry, Amanda continually saw the overwhelming need for mental health resources specifically for the creative community. With that, she shifted her career path into the mental health field to help those struggling with the unique pressures and non-stop nature of the industry. Amanda is trained in EMDR and specializes in working with eating disorders, body image, anxiety, career & life transitions, relational issues, depression, grief & loss, family conflict, and self-worth. Amanda is particularly passionate about working with individuals struggling with eating disorders & body image. She has experience working at an inpatient eating disorder treatment facility and understands the complexities and challenges associated with these disorders.

Amanda believes in a culturally attuned approach to therapy that is tailored to each individual’s unique experience and needs. She is passionate about helping people to be the best versions of themselves, with a focus in bringing clinical skills to support the creative community. Amanda uses a relational approach to help explore past experiences and combine this with concrete interventions for behavioral change, such as exposure response therapy, EMDR, CBT, DBT, and the trauma resiliency model. Amanda wants everyone to know that they are not alone in their struggles and that the pressures of working in the entertainment industry can be challenging, but with the right support, it is possible to thrive.
