An internal MITC panel considers the overall circumstances of each tour, including financial need, available resources, touring intensity and time away, existing provision, barriers to accessing specialist support and the likely benefit of the programme.

Funders and Partners have no role in deciding which tours receive support. We aim to let applicants know the outcome within three weeks of the relevant funding-round deadline.

Applications within each funding round are considered together. Funding is not allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applications are made on behalf of a tour rather than by individual crew members seeking support for themselves.

The form can be submitted by:

• An artist manager or day-to-day manager
• A tour manager
• A production manager

Support can begin during rehearsals or tour preparation and is available until one month after the tour ends.

As a guide, we are primarily looking to support tours that:

• Involve around 10 or more show dates and a sustained period of touring and time away from home
• Are confirmed and forthcoming, or are currently taking place
• Have touring personnel aged 18 or over
• Do not already have access to equivalent funded specialist mental health or welfare support
• Would find the cost of providing this level of support a meaningful barrier

There is no fixed venue-capacity or tour-budget cut-off. We consider the overall resources, scale and circumstances of each tour.

Headline tours and support tours can apply. Festival runs may also be eligible where they involve sustained touring and time away from home.

Fewer than 10 dates? If the run still involves a sustained or particularly intensive period away from home, or there is reason to believe that the tour would really benefit from this support, we will consider it.
