David Gibbs
Therapist and Coach (MBACP)
About me
I am a therapist and coach who works with people under pressure. Artists, songwriters and executives who are navigating the weight of visibility, ambition and emotional intensity. My background blends therapy and coaching, allowing me to work across both the inner and outer dimensions of success. I help clients who are high-functioning but struggling with burnout, relationship strain and loss of meaning. My approach is relaxed, conversational but challenging. I help people make sense of the patterns that drive them while learning to lead themselves with more clarity and steadiness. I have a particular interest in addiction and vertical development.
My background
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade inside the music industry. I was first signed as a recording artist at a young age, which gave me first-hand experiences of the pressures of visibility and expectation. I went on to build a digital agency that partners with major label campaigns – working across everything from Calvin Harris to Yungblud – before co-founding a management company with multiple major label signed talent. I have been part of the team behind No. 1 records and albums and most recently worked as part of the management team for Sam Ryder. I now run Known, a specialist wellness consultancy that specialises in the highest levels of performance, working with clients that range from Olympic gold medallists to CEO’s and public figures.
Working with me
Working with me is real. I am not interested in cold professionalism or distant analysis. I believe therapy works when two people actually meet. We will talk honestly, laugh, disagree and explore what’s really going on, not just what sounds polished. Sometimes it’s emotional, sometimes it’s uncomfortable and sometimes it’s light and full of relief. I help you make sense of your patterns, your relationships and the pressures that come with the music industry. I draw from psychotherapy, coaching and existential work to keep the process deep and practical. The aim isn’t to be fixed, it’s to help you think clearly, feel more grounded and move through your life and career with more honestly, strength and self-respect.
