About me

I came to this work after a long time in personal therapy, which convinced me of the power of talking therapy to enable change. I had to recognise and understand the legacy of a difficult childhood and adolescence, where the pain of proximity to addiction, illness, and the passing of family members, and the damage of these events to a family system, brought adaptations that became unhelpful to me in my adult life.

I have worked throughout my life in creative roles, including music, as a performer, media and the arts prior to my work as a therapist: and have a specialist knowledge of the challenges that these bring. I have lived experience of neurodivergence and the impact that this can have in day to day life.

I’m not easily shaken or shocked. I can hold, confidentially, and empathetically. anything that you need to talk through. I believe that we are all OK, and are capable of re-decision, and my approach is warm, honest and supportive.

My background

I offer transactional analysis, a kind of talking therapy which attracted me as a very equitable ethos, the core principals including a belief that we are both OK, and that everyone has the capacity to make new decisions. I sometimes make music still, liberatingly just for friends and fun. I intend to undertake further training in neurodivergent practise and in trauma work.

I had a number of record deals in the 90s and early 2000s, and was a touring artist (I wouldn’t presume to call myself a musician). I have also been involved with organisations and collectives that run clubs, and post these activities have worked in venues and organisations that present art music and theatre. I also work with actors through spotlight, and wellbeing in the arts.

Working with me

Through our work together you will grow your awareness of the patterns that are causing you difficulties in your life. Begin to relate to those patterns in a new way, and explore the root causes of those patterns so you can decide what you would like to do differently.
